more info…
How long are therapy sessions and what are your fees?
My fee for a 50-minute individual session is $225.00. Longer sessions can be accommodated with a prorated fee. Fees are paid at every session.
Do you see people in person or virtually?
I currently have a hybrid model - providing services in person (in South Pasadena) and virtually (in the state of CA).
Do you use a sliding scale?
If you are highly motivated and simply cannot afford the rates listed above, I can offer a sliding scale for services. Please contact me with more information including your thoughts about the amount that you can afford and I will let you know if it can be accommodated.
Do you take insurance?
In addition to fee-for-service, I am in network with Aetna and BCBS of Massachusetts (through a platform called Headway). Headway checks your benefits, or you can contact your insurance company to confirm your mental health benefits and any copay for which you may be responsible. If you have PPO insurance, you may be able to obtain reimbursement for therapy services. You would be responsible for paying the fee directly to me, and I would provide you with a bill at the end of the month that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please confirm with your insurance company that this is an option for you, as well as the process and rate of reimbursement.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hr cancellation policy, which means that appointments need to be rescheduled/cancelled with more than 24 hours advance notice in order to avoid a full fee charge. Please note that you are responsible for the cancellation fees, even if you are using insurance for treatment (insurances do not reimburse for cancellations).
What can I expect when I contact you?
You are welcome to contact me for a short no-cost consultation regarding fit and availability. If we decide to proceed, you will be completing some paperwork including a consent and contact form. The first session will be an intake, during which I will ask many questions regarding what brought you to therapy, you psychosocial and treatment history, and we will discuss your treatment goals. During this session we will continue to assess fit - it is important that you feel understood and comfortable with me, and I will share with you my thoughts of my ability to meet your needs.
How long will I be in therapy?
Length of therapy is determined by multiple factors, and we can discuss your wishes when creating goals for treatment. Shorter term therapy has the objective of creating and using coping skills to manage stressors, while longer term therapy will provide the opportunity for deeper exploration of issues, and to increase insight and awareness.
